well what i did was to call the vienna state opera for a ticket they told me to call back one month before the performance for a ticket - the phone number to call is 0114315131513. i am going to vienna in december and want to see wagners die walkurie december 21st so i have to call not earlier than november 21st for a ticket. there are ticket brokers in vienna but they add a commission to the ticket. i hope this information helps.

Internet sales of tickets opens exactly one month ahead of the date of the performance. Unfortunately, the ordering is in German language only. I believe there is another thread with translations in the Vienna forum, try to search for it.
Otherwise, order by telephone one month ahead.

You can book advance tickets online, but seats will only be assigned a month before the show.
Visit this URL www.staatsoper.at/Content.Node2/en/index.php, and click on %26quot;Internet ticket sales%26quot; on the right and it will take you to the culturall website from which you can look at the schedule and order advance tickets.
