train from Munich to Landeck

We are going to Ishgl in early Feb but due to the expensive Innsbruck flights on Saturdays are flying to Munich. The train timetable is ok but we are having problems with train ticket prices. There are 4 of us and we would like to pre-book. Has anyone done this journey. Tips etc + prices very welcome.

Ps Have found a really nice looking apartment so will report back.

You do not have to prebook, you can buy the tickets just before boarding the train!

The journey will take you about 4-5 hours from Munich airport to Landeck (with at least 2 changes of trains - ususally in Munich city and Innsbruck) and from Landeck you will have to go to Ischgl by bus (additional 45 - 55 minutes duration of bus ride) or booked private tranfer. 4240 bus leaving for Ischgl about every hour during the day:

Really no need to buy tickets in advance, trains can never sell out! At Munich airport there%26#39;s a ticket counter and many ticket machines, if you feel better, you can buy tickets from Deutsche Bahn (as your journey starts in Germany) and have sent them to you by post.

Cost for the rail tickets Munich Airport to Landeck-Zams oneway will be € 198,80 (so € 49,70 per person), bus Landeck Ischgl is € 5,90 per person.

By the way: if you buy a return ticket and bound yourself to certain trains (not changeable, of course a problem if your flight is late) you can save 50% of the train fare. Just enter the two travel dates into the timetable query and look, if there are Sparpreise (saver fares) left.

Many thanks for all your helpful replies. We are really looking forward to it! Just wish we were going sooner.
