salzburg in november

i am going to be in salzburg from november 22-24th. can someone please tell me what the weather will be like? i%26#39;m from chicago so i am used to some bitterly cold winters, but i%26#39;m wondering just how cold it will be. thank you in advance!

I travelled from Chicago to Salzburg and Vienna last November (around Nov 5), and it was slightly warmer than Chicago at that time. I am guessing things might get colder towards the end of the month, but it is not going to be significantly colder than what you are used to.

i live in salzburg, and we just got snow today. it is not %26#39;bitterly%26#39; cold, however. chances are that most of the snow will not stay on the ground for long. just make sure you have toque and mittens, and clothes and footwear that will keep you dry. it has been between 0 and 10 degrees Celcius recently, but it could get colder. i have been told it usually doesn%26#39;t get much cooler than -10 degrees.

hmm, well thanks for your input guys! really appreciate it. i hope the weather will be good when i go! i need to buy a coat here in spain becuase i did not bring one with me from home!

can anyone give me some good shopping advice in the immediate salzburg area? preferably rather cheap, haha, as i am a poor college student? i´m living in spain right now studying and the like and i´m only going to be in salzburg for part of next friday, all of saturday, and part of sunday. thank you again for your input!

Shopping is never very cheap in the old city. The quality of goods in the shops is very high and the prices reflect that. As you move away from the touristy area things do become cheaper. You could always take the bus to the Europark shopping mall but that is way out of the centre and not nearly so interesting. You might find some bargains on the Christmas markets. To be honest the city is so magical during the advent period that I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll have a great time whether you buy much or not :-) Have a great trip. Keep warm!

Myself and five work colleagues will be over at the same time in Salzburg. Hope we all have a great time. Looking on a webcam the snow seems a little heavy round by Lake Fuschl, where we are staying.
