zurich to lech

Two of us are arriving Zurich airport at 2120 on a Saturday evening in February 2007 and need to get to Lech. Unfortunately it%26#39;s too late for the Arlberg Express bus. Can anyone offer good advice on the best way to get to Lech at this time of day?

Probably, taxis are the only sensible option but we%26#39;re afraid they could be very expensive. Does anyone know of a safe and reasonable taxi firm?

Have you checked out RailEurope ? Plan to take the subway from the airport to Zurich HB .... then check for trains from Zurich HB to Langen am Arlberg. I only takes about 2 hours and is a pleasant trip. There are buses to Lech depending on the time ... but I usally arrange to have taxi meet me. I have found %26quot;Der Lecher%26quot; located in Lech to offer fair and reasonable taxi service..

Taxi fare for the entire trip would be enormous ... better you sleep overnight in Zurich near the train station and then tae the 9:30 AM train to Langen..getting in at noon.

It might more prudent to change your flight arrival time if it%26#39;s not too inconvenient, making onward travel to Lech more enjoyable that arriving in the wee small hours

We have used %26quot;Der Lecher%26quot; as well in the office for clients transfers there, and I can confirm them to be reliable so far.

If you want to go the whole way from Zürich to Lech by taxi, think about its a distance of nearly 200 km, ameks 400 km on the taxi to pay in total each way, and on average, you will have to pay at least € 1 per km, given its night and weekend you are searching for ... If you still consider that, ask either %26quot;Der Lecher%26quot; or another company, Taxi Zoller in Bludenz for a quote, Zoller now does all the long-distance transfers in this area for us, very nice people and very reasonable as well, ther is not much on his webpage, just send him a mail or ring him:

I just saw he has a fixed price for your route, € 320, not even that bad ....

I think recent posters should examine the dates of original questions regarding this subjectr.. They are from 2006.

Hopefully posters found their way to Lech by now .

Doesn´t mean that the information couldn´t be of value to others, and might save us having to answer it again a dozen times this winter ... I heard there are still people out there who use the search-option first ! :-)

Taxi to Lech runs about $300 or so.....the train to Langen am Arlberg is definately the more reasonable bet and it is easy to take the train from the airport to the Hauptbanhof.

If there%26#39;s not a train that late, I agree, I would change your flight if you can. See if the hotel will pick you up in Langen and what they charge...

Good Luck....it%26#39;s worth the hassle.
