Do a search for Bayern-Ticket on the Germany Forum.
It is a group ticket. Up to 5 people can travel for a day after 9:00 throughout Bavaria (and Salzburg) on a single 27 Euros Bayern-Ticket on local transport. So your party of 18 would only need 4 Bayern-Tickets.
Local transport includes RE trains that you would take from Salzburg to the Munich main train station and the SBahn %26amp; UBahn that you can use from the train station to Fröttmaning. It does not include faster ICE trains, but RE trains are still reasonably quick between Salzburg and Munich.
I like the following Die Bahn input screen:
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
From: Salzburg
To: Fröttmaning
Change %26quot;Means of transport:%26quot; from %26quot;standard search%26quot; to %26quot;only local transport%26quot;.
If you have further questions, there are folks on the German Forum better qualified to answer than me.
Regards, Gary
