Solden Hotel recomendations needed

We need a 4 star hotel for a bunch of straight guys for a ski holiday. Thanks.

Is Solden the town we went through on our way to Obergurgl? If so, don%26#39;t go there. We were there in January and Solden had no snow. Also, we stopped for lunch in the town and its not a very nice place. Obergurgl on the other hand was gorgeous.

We stayed at a guesthouse/small inn in Soelden - there were several rooms (not sure how big your group is) and the way the place is laid out, you can rent as rooms, or one or two bedroom apartments with kitchen. It%26#39;s called the Alpenhaeusl - www.alpenhaeusl.at .... I had to dig out some paperwork to find you this url, and notice that it is listed as 3 stars, however, we stayed in Salzburg at a so-called 4 star place, and this guesthouse in Soelden was *way* nicer. It is located right next door to the local pool/sauna etc.

My husband and I spent a week at the Hotel Bergland in Soelden in late February 2003. We had a wonderful stay. The rooms and the wellness center had recently been redone and were just lovely. The food was very good and the owner, Sigi Gruener, took guests on a ski tour of Soelden one day each week. We were fortunate enough to have a private day of guiding with Sigi and had a blast. He is a former World Powder 8 champion who is just a great host. I don%26#39;t know whether he is always there.

That week there weren%26#39;t any other English native language speakers (German school holidays, I think), but all the staff and many of the guests spoke English and made us feel very welcome. There was a funky but fun single chair on the hotel patio that took you up to the main lifts. We have longed to go back again, but have never had the opportunity.
