Vienna hotel to Suedbahnhof???

We will be staying at the Mercure Biedermeier Hotel on Landstrasserhauptstr. We will need to travel from the hotel to the Suedbahnhof to catch a train to Venice. Our train leaves at 6:30am. What is the best way to get to the station with our luggage and what time should we be there in order to catch the train? And how far is it from our hotel to the station?

Also we have lovely scenery on our train journey. I am assuming yes as Austria is such a beautiful country.

Cheers

Several people with luggage - probably best to take a taxi .

The hotel can call one for you. 8-10 minute ride perhaps.

Alternative by public transport - walk to Landstrasse / Wien Mitte station - perhaps 5 minutes to walk - then either Streetcar %26quot; O %26quot; or S bahntrain to Sudbahnhof. perhaps 15 -20 minutes.

Not much fun with much luggage.

If you already have tickets , you can arrive at the station with 10- 15 before train and have no problems. But I would give more time to avoid stress and time to find your way and seats .

Large message Board in the station will provide track information .

Thanks Vertical.

I too think a taxi would be best.

One other question. I am planning on purchasing our train tickets online on the oebb site. Am I able to purchase SparSchiene tickets online or not. I had a look and it appears I can but I think I read on another post that you can%26#39;t..

Hope someone out there can help.

Thanks
