zell am see

Staying at Zell in early 2008. we were there before and wondering if a trip to Kaprun ifor a day is worthwhile. How far, does it take long and is it worth going for a change in ski scenery ?

When I stayed in Zell am See for skiing I went to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier (near Kaprun) for one day and I think it was worth it, because it is a unique feeling to ski on a glacier.

A bus will bring you from Zell am See to Kaprun within 17 minutes:

From 26 October 2006 till 4 May 2007 a regular ski bus service ferries skiers and boarders free of charge every 30 minutes from many bus stops in the village of Kaprun to the ski areas Kitzsteinhorn and Maiskogel.

During the ski winter of the Europa Sportregion Zell am See-Kaprun the ski bus service between Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun and Zell am See can be used free of charge as well (every 15 or 60 minutes belonging to the season).

Glacier is OK. But during winter periods of little snow in any resorts nearby, everyone has the same idea to go to the glacier to find good snow.

Unfortunately the long lines of fellow skiers and crowded facities are the result. You should consider this possible problem.

Yes spend a day in Kaprun, and a day at the glacier. Kaprun is about 15 minutes from zell, and the gacier 30 minutes.
