grand hotel, zell am see

Has anyone spent christmas in zell am see? In partcicular the Grand Hotel? I know about the railway line, still impressed by hotel reveiws but wonder what we can expect to do during the day (with two kids aged 3 and 5) at that time of year? Winter wonderland? Thanks

Zell am See and the Grand hotel will probably be just beautiful at Christmas! But you know, you can never predict how snow there will be.

The Grand is a nice hotel. The railway line is not a problem. Snow is not guaranteed.Remember last year.

The advantage of Zell am Se is that there is the kitzsteinhorn glacier nearby where you have snow for sure:

Of course you can never be sure of having snow down in the valley - although the forecast for this year predicts that we will be going to have more snow than last year. And it has already snowed in some parts of Austria yesterday!
