Vienna - Ski slopes - Salzburg : Is this do-able ?

Hi, I would appreciate it if someone could give me some advice. I%26#39;m planning a trip to Austria over X%26#39;mas - 4 days pre-Xmas in Vienna, 4 days at a ski resort from christmas eve (not necessary to ski but to enjoy the snow and non-ski activities), and 3 more days post x-mas in salzburg.

1) Can anyone recommend any ski resorts somewhere near vienna or salzburg that might do 3-night stays ?

2) What is the best way to get to the ski resort from Vienna and then from the resort to Salzburg?

3) Or should I use the few days I%26#39;m planning for the ski resort to do day-trips to Prague/Budapest ?

Not always easy to find a hotel that will do 3 days but well worth a try

Gastein Valley 45 minutes from Salzburg will tick all boxes
