I can get to the english version of the page, but when it brings up the option to purchase tickets that is all in German. Thanks in advance for any help!

Unfortunately, the internet ticket sales site is in German only.

Please note that tickets for this performance will go on sale via internet and telephone on November 25th.

Before that, being from abroad, you may order tickets via fax or mail. Please see the englich version of th opera%26#39;s website for details. Or you wait until Nov 25th and then call the telephone ticket sales ()credit card needed). They should be able to help you in english.

Thanks so much for your help! Any idea of the dress code for events at this location or restaurants in the area that might be open for dinner? We%26#39;re getting so excited about our trip!

Dress code at the opera ismore formal here than in the US. People will wear dark suits, particularly in the more expensive seating areas. If you are packing lightly, wear something dark blue or black.

There are plenty of restaurants around the opera house, but considering it%26#39;s the Christmas holiday, some might not be open. Also, not all of them will still serve dinner after the end of the performance. Hotel Sacher and Hotel Bristol both are just a few steps away and have excellent restaurants which should be open, but it will be rather expensive and you%26#39;d have to make reservations in advance. Another option would be Café Mozart, which is not really a restaurant, but a typical café. They have a good choice of very well prepared typical dishes, also for an early dinner.

Maybe someone else can suggest other options nearby.

%26quot;KÖNIGSBACHER%26quot; in Walfischgasse opposite the opera is still a surprisingly decently priced alternative for late food after the opera. Classic Viennese food, nice wine-selection, fairly rustique setting, can get a bit loud after the opera when everybody feels the need to start talking and discussing again fater having to be quiet for 2-3 hours.

The adress is Walfischgasse 5, Tel: +43 1 5131210, they are open until midnight (opera is finished around 22:30), but they only open at night Monday - Friday. www.koenigsbacher.at , but only in german unfortunatly.

If you prefer something more modern and international, %26quot;1516 - The Brewing Company%26quot; is also only a short walk away and serves very affordable food until past midnight, excellent home-brewn beers as well, international staff and menue

1516 Brewing Company

Bierlokal-Pub

Schwarzenbergstraße 2 / Corner to Krugerstraße, which starts at the opera

Tel: +43 1 9611516

Their webpage is down unfortunatly !
