family of four first time skiing

Thinking of going ski-ing end of Jan next year and have looked at aurach Hotel. 48,47,20 and 22 in age and none of us have ever been ski-ing. Would this resort be good for complete beginners and has anyone experience of this hotel. One review seemed to suggest this hotel might be too far out. Can any one else suggest any others - looking for half board but would don%26#39;t want to spend a fortune. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

I would suggest the SnowBunnys in Kitzbühel,

I would suggest Pension Johanna In Kitz. Very good price and friendly host. I have stayed there 3 times before and am already booked to stay in Feb 2008. In a good location and nice rooms. Send a msg to: johanna@tirol.com and Trine, the manager will get back to you promptly.

P.S. It is the HQ of the %26quot;GB Ski Team%26quot; (Type it into google using %26quot;GB Ski Team%26quot;)

As far as being beginners go, it is not the best place in the world for snow-sure-ness as it is quite a low lying resort but the general atmosphere of Kitz is second to none in my opinion. I always look to visit different resorts at Christmas and Easter but cannot drag myself from Kitz in Feb. Fantastic! Enjoy yourselves.

I have stayed at the hotel alexander and hotel tirolerhof. Both have good rooms-great rates and excellent services, staff and restaurants. Also the Londener bar is at hotel alexander. Good locations-they can%26#39;t do enough for you.

We stayed at the Crystal Club hotel Hofer. This is fairly central in Kitzbuhel, and by the bus stop from Kitzbuheler Horn, which is the main beginner area. It%26#39;s not expensive but entirely English run, which may not be what you want. It%26#39;s about 3 minutes walk and lift to the old town.

Aurach is an outlying village, so it will be a vary quiet holiday. I think that it%26#39;s worth being in the town for the first one, so as well as the skiing you can window shop, go in a bar, have cakes out.

You need to check the Hahnenkamm dates for late january, it would be really worthwhile going while this is on, but accomodation will be mimited. there are about 50,000 people a day coming in, and the town is really lively.

have fun

I have got the exact place, we hae been twise this year already, we will be there in Jan, again next year. the place is fantastic for both beginners and advanced skiing, i was a very beginner.

I stayed at the www.bluemountainhotel.at. this was a 4 star hotel that was fantantastic alue and definatley did not break the bank and the bar was good value.

GORGEOUS ROOMS AND FOOD,

A family run hotel that helprd with every aspect of my holiday, i keep telling people about this holiday as i have never had such a good time and accomodation. What a laugh, the british and aussie owners were great.

Try the Hotel Hofer in kitzbuhel, it is a crystal club hotel, all the staff are british so there will be no comunication problems, the hotel provides breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner 6 nights a week. It is close to train stations so if you fancy a day off skiing to sightsee and also close to town centre for a bit of apres ski but not too close to be noisy if a quiet night in is on the cards. So al l in all a bit for all the family and would suit everyone. They ar ebooked through a web site, www.crystalholidays.co.uk.

hope this helps.
