Please help - thinking of St Johann in Tyrol for New Year -

We went to Soll in 2005 and loved it. The snow was pretty dire by end of week though. We are going for NY and I have read that St johann is the snow %26#39;surest%26#39; of the Tirol region?? I also like the fact that the runs are mostly blue and easy. (I should add, if money wasnt an option, I would be heading to Corchevel and not posting this!)

But, how come i havnt heard of it?? and the prices seem to be reasonable?? have i struck gold and am being uneccesarily suspect? has anyone been, i would love to hear.

Or, does anyone else have an opinion of a better equally priced austrian resort.

Thanks xx

Hello. Have been to St Johann 7 times now over the last 20 years, 4 times early in February/March. Not a good skier by any stretch of the imagination, but the ski-ing is idilic and easy, and the weather has been gloriously warm the whole time (never seen snow falling at any time!) Apart from the ski-ing, you must try the tobaggan run, 3-4 miles of hair raising fun down a 1in 5 slope between the trees, I will have to do it again one day before I get too old! Best hotel? It used to be Mosers but has now changed hands. We are going again in June 2008 and have booked into the Panoramahotel, have a look at their website, you%26#39;ll be amazed at their prices. www.panoramahotel-garni.at/English/Hotel.htm
