We are planning a trip first week of March %26#39;08.
We are a family of seven and some want to go to Saalbach-Hinterglem.
Panic all over the place as Hinterglam is loud!! To many drunk people, fighting people, weird people and a overall %26quot;let%26#39;s get druk and throw up atmosphere....%26quot; :-)
To my question is this person in fact has ever been there, the answer was %26quot;No but everybody knows this!%26quot;
So a question to the REAL travellers out there!!! How Bad is Hinterglam?
Thanking you in advance for your feed back

Saalbach is well known for partying.
I have been there, but did stay more up the mountain, so I did not hear anything.
But my father has been in Saalbach village on a vacation and mentioned that there were many drunken people in the streets in the evening and also shouting at night....
I think it depends where you will stay exactly - if you will be close to the apres-ski bars, pubs, ...or further away.

Some resorts better known for bar- disco party time than others- Saalbach- Hinterglemm as noted above is generally known as a party place in my opinion.
The late night party people are not just loud in bars and streets - but can also wake up most all sleepers in some hotels as the return with much yelling and loud noises of slamming doors etc.
Many less expensive hotels rent to group tours of younger people who it seems as much to party as ski.
Much will depend on your hotel choice

Hi VandeLande
We have been several times and stayed in a pension between Saalbach %26amp; Hinterglem and have not experienced this sort of loutish behaviour. We sometimes have a drink early evening (Apres ski) and other nights go out in the evenings and have maybe seen a couple of youngsters drunk, but not loud and noisey. Our pension was full of single dutch guys and although they staggered out of a taxi most evenings, they were as good as gold and didn%26#39;t make too much noise when they came in. They just had a good time.
We love the ski circus and found the skiing and nightlife ok. Maybe we were lucky when we went, but just giving you our experience.

Wow guys, that was quick!!!
Thank you very much for your answers!
Our plan is to stay at the Kendler Hotel a 4 star hotel, so according to the information you gave me, the noice in the hotel should be ok.
Once again thank you and your stories in combination with the beautifull skiing possibilities have made me take a good descision.... I hope :-)

Another recommendation:
if you want to avoid the party people and the crowds then maybe think of staying just across the montain in Leogang. It will be quiet and you will be able to use the same skiing area - access to the same lifts and slopes as well as to those in the Saalfelden area by free ski bus!

There is a nice hotel called Krallerhof:
