Use of 8 Day Ticket

I am visiting Vienna in December with my wife for only 3 days, 2 nights (but acutally less than 48 hours in total). I was wondering if the 8 day ticket can give us better value, than getting 24hr tickets.

Am I right to say that I can use the 8 day ticket to travel from the Airport to the city (taking S Bahn) by using 2 strips per person as the trip will be 2 zones?

After reaching the city, can I still use the same 2 strips to go around the city and even on the Badner Bahn to SCS on the same day? The strips can be use on Badner Bahn? Do I need more strips or the ones used from the airport on the same day is good enough? The trip from SCS back to the city will also be covered? If so, I will use only 4 strips on the first day for 2 of us. This should be cheaper than if I need to get extra zones from the airport, to SCS and back from SCS if I use 24hr tickets.

The other 4 strips, I can use for the next 2 days with my wife in the city and then we will catch a train from the city to Prague on the last day.

Lastly, just to confirm, I can buy the 8 Day ticket from the airport S Bahn station when I arrive, right? Thanks for helping.

The 8 day ticket can be useful but it also has limitations-

firs-if two people use it , they must be traveling together at all times as the ticket must be in the poseession of the riders if a check is made.

The ticket is only good within the city of Vienna- cost 27,20 euro I think.

If you use the s- bahn from the airport - As the airport is outside of the city you still need to buy a ticket valid for the trip on the s-bahn from airport to city limits - the vienna ticket then takes over - this costs a little less than 2 euro more per person.

The same applires to SCS abd Baden as they are both outside Vienna.

Validation of one strip provides one day of passage. per person.

If you plan to use just 2 days of travel n the Vienna system it is probably a little cheaper to buy one day tickets.- 24 hur tickets.

Yo can purchase tickets at the Vienna Information desk just to the left as you enter into the Arrivals Hall and get further info.

You can also buy on line

Thanks Vertical, for the reply.

Hope that you can also help with this also. I would like to know if I can validate 2 strips on a 8 Day Ticket for travel 2 zones in Vienna for the whole day? That means can I arrive at the Airport, validate 2 strips for myself and use S7 to the city. Then on the same day, go to SCS using Badner Bahn without the need to validate any more extra strips or any additional cost. The same for the return trip from SCS to the city on the same day? If that is possible, it would be cheaper than paying additional zones for 3 times on that day (once from the airport, once to SCS and once back from SCS) if I use the 24hr ticket.

As I will be travelling with my wife together all the time, it should not be a problem. So I validate 4 strips in total for us for a day for 2 zones?

Finally, I found that ticket offices do not open on Saturdays and Sundays. I%26#39;m arriving in Vienna on a Saturday. Is the information counter at the arrival hall open on Saturday for me to buy 24hr or 8 Day ticket? Thanks for helping.

hi

airport and SCS are not in the same zone , so this is not allowed.

Oh, I see. I initially thought that the airport and SCS are both considered as outerzones. Guess I have to stick to using the 24hr tickets.

Finally, anyone knows if the information counter at the airport arrival hall is open on Saturday for me to buy 24hr tickets? Or are there machines that I can buy from? Adding extra zones are purchased from the machines as well? Thanks for all the answers.
