Hi I am currently in Salzburg, having a great time.
This is my second time here and Im wondering apart from the old town and the Europark are there any other shopping areas centres around?
I have been to C%26amp;A , but would love some other shops to visit.
Also a large supermarket?
These wouls need to be accessable by bus.
Many thanks

Have you been up the Linzergasse? I like the shops up there, and the sidestreets off it, specially towards the Mirabellgarten. One block up from the river there is Dreifaltigkeitsgasse to your left that where you%26#39;ll find a shop selling some lovely silk scarves and accessories. There%26#39;s also a fabulous antique jewellers on that street, a little further along.
There%26#39;s a small shopping centre opposite the rail station which includes a large Spar supermarket. But generally I prefer the small quirky shops in Salzburg.
One of my favourite shops is a little silver jewellery shop on the Burgerspitalplatz which you can find if you walk to the Monschberg end of the Getreidegasse and turn right towards the river - there%26#39;s a couple of little shops just round the corner including this one. It%26#39;s not expensive but has a huge range of good-quality silver jewellery, and the owner is very helpful (and speaks excellent English!).
For delish chocolates and sweets I like Habbakuk on the Linzergasse (best Mozartkugeln in all Salzburg!) The cakes are good too.
The Apotheke on the river quay just along from the Billa has a good stock of herbal beauty products - I enjoy a rummage in there!

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. And all the information.
Im curious as to where the Austrians shop? For clothes, food etc as Im sure the shops in the centre of town are aimed at tourists.
I always enjoy trying to see things from a locals point of view.
I will definitley take a look at the Silver shop. sounds good.
Many thanks

Hello. A shop called Moser, on Bachstrasse, sells traditional Austrian clothing such as lederhosen, dirndls, shoes, blouses, coats, jackets, knitwear, etc. Prices are much lower than in the tourist shops. You can take bus no. 4 from Mirabelplatz and walk down Bachstrasse. Moser is on the right hand side at No. 34. Opening hours at the shop are Mon-Fri 0900 till 1800 and on Saturdays 0900 till 1200.
Liz.
