Travel between Prague and Vienna

I%26#39;m trying to buy a faresaver ticket on RailEurope and they want to charge me a reservation fee in addition to my first class travel pass. Does this make sense? Is there a fee when you reserve a first class ticket at the station? Also, we%26#39;re leaving from prague on friday, and returning from vienna on sunday; do you think we need reservations? Thank you for any advice!

Please do not use Rail Europe to buy your ticket.

Their prices are usually much higher than you will pay here for the same ticket.

Numerous trains daily between thes 2 cities.

just get to the train station early enough to allow you to buy your ticket .

Normally 2nd class is fine .

You do not give dates of travel- usually you should have no trouble buying a ticket for same day or next day travel - except on very busy holidays.

for schedules

aso llok at numerous postings here -

insert %26quot; train to prague%26quot; in search box

There are also many postings regarding this in the Czech Republic forum.

I second the previous poster - Rail Europe is a complete ripoff, and I have never had a problem getting a seat on this train, especially first class, so don%26#39;t worry about that. It only gets really busy in the height of summer, but even then only in second class.

Make sure you get a direct EC train - there are two of these in the morning, 0608 from Suedbahnhof, arrive 1025 (EC 370) or 1008, arrive 1425 (EC172 VINDOBONA). It may be that you will have to pay an EC supplement, but you can pay on the train, and only costs a couple of Euros.

As I say, check the many posts about this elsewhere.
