We%26#39;re going to be in Salzburg on December 24-26 this year. We%26#39;ll be going to the Christmas market on the 24th, but will be looking for restaurants/sights/events/trips to make on the 25th and 26th. Any suggestions?

Hello, I have never spent the actual Christms period in Salzburg but hopefully others will be able to advise you regarding restaurants, etc. What I did want to say was please bear in mind that the Christmas market will be open from 9.00am until 3.00pm on 24th December as it is the last day.

We spent last Christmas in Salzburg and had our Christmas dinner on the 25th at St. Peter%26#39;s Stiffskellar. They fill up quickly so I would contact them now. I believe they only serve until about 3pm. Explore their cemetery as it is decorated so beautifully with Christmas decorations and even trees on the graves. Another restaurant that I think is open on Christmas Day is Zum Moren. It is one of our favorite restuarants.
We also took the Sound of Music Tour with Bob%26#39;s Tours on the 26h but they also operate on the 25th, as does Panorama Tours. There is an all day Sleigh Ride to Ramsau on the 25th and 26th via Panorama that some guests at our hotel took and loved it. The tourist information center will be able to help you.
But there is so much to see and do right in Salzburg if you don%26#39;t want a tour. It%26#39;s a small city and easy to get around. Most shops are closed on the 25 and 26th but you can go to the fortress which has wonderful views or take the bus to Hellbrunn Palace or the Untersburg and take the ride to the top of the mountain.
