Hotel recommendation

Looking for a 4-5 star hotel that is well located with good ammenities.Any recommendations? Prefer 4 star but willing to go to 5 if it comes highly recommendd.

Which kind of hotel do you prefer - the traditional %26quot;Grand hotel%26quot; style, chains like Intercontinental or design hotels?

Either. I like the idea of boutique hotel but need to have fitness room and good facilities

Grand Hotel on the Ringstrasse just 100 meters from the State Opera is one of the best 5 star hotels in Vienna. They also are opening a sister hotel just across the street some time in November I think- perhaps you are in the city during this time- often good opening rates- excelent choices. near to sightseeing, shopping and fine dining-

Grand offers excelent service- I would definitely recommend it.

le Meredien is also on the Ring very near to the Opera and Hofburg palace - they often have off- season specials.

One boutique place that may interest you- small - limited facilities but sauna but a great location- in city center - walking distance to many things

Hollmann also has a very nice restaurant ....

Nices 4* ones I know myself are also:

Pension Altstadt (even though a little bit off the center, about 10 - 15 min. walk into the old town, but good public transport conncetions

Hotel König v. Ungar

Hotel Wandl

Hotel Stefanie

....

The Grand Hotel has already been mentioned, also my best tip if you have the budget, or probably the Hotel Sacher, a very nice one 5* is sloe the SAS Palace Hotel, next to the Grand Hotel, but bigger and a %26quot;little%26quot; bit cheaper ...

we were in Vienna about 3 wks ago and stayed at the DeFrance on the ring and thought the hotel to be excellent. Had the best buffet breakfast of any hotel we%26#39;ve stayed at -both this trip and others. I would classify it as a 4 1/2 star.

Has anyone tried the hotel K K Marie Theresia on the ring?

This Kand K is not on the Ringstrasse but is found behind the Museum Quartier - still not a bad location - a short walk to the Ring and much sightseeing-

it receives good reviews - would be a good choice in my opinion.

Just one note to some above information--SAS Palais is not next to the Grand - it is near to the Marriott on the Ring.
