Hello!!!
Trying to plan a trp for next year to Hotel Alpenrose in Lermoos, Austria and wondered if anyone had ever stayed here or knows anything about it.
I have 2 small children so the childcare they provide seems a real bonus!!!
Id really appreciate it if anyone could give me any feedback.
Thanks
Helen

Let me begin by saying that I don%26#39;t know anything about the Alpenrose. I am very familier with that area and it is enchanting! My wife and I usually stay at the Alpen Residence in the next village, Ehrwald. We truly love this place. It has all the conveniences of a Hotel, but is family owned and operated by the Oberreiter family. We usually include the half board deal which includes dinner each night, and the food is wonderful. Sorry I could go on and on. I know that you were not looking for this specific information about another Hotel but I couldn%26#39;t help myself. The Lermoos/Ehrwald area is very peaceful, quiet and again, enchantingly beautiful.

There%26#39;s a review of the hotel by someone from New Jersey dated 7 Dec 2005 in the hotel reviews. I%26#39;ve pasted it below for your convenience. It looks good. I%26#39;ve stayed in Lermoos myself a few times but don%26#39;t know this hotel.
%26quot;superb hotel in the Austrian Alps, especially for families with small kids. This hotel specializes in this type of guest(s). Locations is breathtaking, service is 5 Stars, food and rooms are excellent. My kids loved the play rooms and other areas. Our room had separate rooms for the kids and parents. In all,a 5-star hotel experience%26quot;

Helen, I am the one that wrote the review on the Alpenrose hotel. This a great hotel if you got kids 10 and under. We stayed there during our Germany/Austria vacation and I can tell you that we will be staying there again when we go back for our family vacation in 2007. Bear in mind that the hotel is not cheap (we paid EURO 155.00 per night) but once you experience the location, service and everything else you will think that 150.00 is nothing. Hope this helps.

hchapman,
We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and you can read my very positive review about it. This is a perfect hotel for families with small children. The facility and rooms are top notch. As a matter of fact we went back to Austria a couple of weeks ago and wanted to stay there but it was all fully booked. When you make your reservation, make sure to ask if the construction and renovations will be finished by the time you arrive. When we tried to get a room a few weeks ago, about 30% of the place was under construction/renovations. There is a Ski area within a 5 minute walk and also ski shops and everything ski related. You mentioned about a vehicle. The hotel is located in the town of Lermoos and everything is within walking distance (restaurants, supermarket, farmacy, etc). Nonetheless, Lermoss is in the middle of nowhere and you will need a vehicle if you wish to see other villages or attractions. Check out their website at: http://www.hotelalpenrose.at

Thank you very much for your help. We will probally be booking our holiday soon and I think we have made up our mind to go to Alpenrose as it sounds like it is ideal for our family with lots of stuff for our children as well as for us grown ups.

Dear Helen
We stayed in the Alpenrose this October (2007). I can recommend it for families with children over 6 years. If the children are younger, there are not so many activities for children. Our son is 2 years old, and the childcare is ok, but not special. They are not so motivated, especially if children are crying. Under 3 year olds can play and go walking outside for 30mins twice a day, not more. I think for the money it will cost I will not recommend it for children under 6. But the food was very good and the room clean. But do not book a suite, its to much money you will spend (we were in a pinocchio suite, which is only a name, all suites are the same on one floor) and a smaller room is also great. Check out few photos of the suite and area around the hotel on our page http://www.wirheiraten.ch/claudiaundphilipp (Fotoalbum, Flittertage Tirol). If you have any more questions do not hesitate to contact me. Claudia, Switzerland
