My wife %26amp; I will be in Salzburg from early December 2007 to May 2008. We have been offered a car for 0.37 euro/kilometer, including everything but the diesel fuel (insurance, maintenance, taxes, etc). Is this a reasonable offer or should we consider leasing or purchasing a car. If we were to purchase could we negotiate a guaranteed buyback from a dealer? If lease or purchase, any dealer recommendations/contact info?
Thank you for your kind assistance.

Have you looked into long-term lease programs offered by Renault and, I believe, also VW and some of the other European manufacturers?
Check their websites. If nothing else, it will give you a means to compare against the offer you already have.
Purchasing a car, unless you want to take it back to the US (I assume that%26#39;s where you are living) is not a good idea, if you keep the car only for 5 months. Depreciation is the most rapid during the first year. Purchse plans for taking the car back to the US are offered by Volvo, BMW, Mercedes. etc. Some of these makes may have longer delivery periods than your early December deadline.

0.37 per km sounds very reasonable but it will all depend on how much you%26#39;re planning to use the car and what kind of car you require. If you%26#39;ll drive a lot, it could be worth buying a used car from a reputable dealer (who might offer a couple of months warranty) and selling it again when you leave.
