Need advice for 48 hours vienna stop

Our first visit to Wien in 7days. Hotel Bristol 2 nights but I%26#39;m struggling to choose the 2 or 3 %26quot;must see%26quot; sites among the many musuems and palaces. Any suggestions? Also, any recommendations for simple but good local food in near State Opera House?

Much depends on your interests but I offer some things most like

Palaces-

Hofburg - short walk from the Bristol - a good tour of the Imperial winter palace - while there also tour the Schatzkammer - Imperial jewels, crowns- overlooked by many .

Schonbrunn - summer palace- fine rooms and beautiful park

take U-Bahn line U-4 stop very close to the Bristol.

Liechtenstein Palace- 9th District - combine Palace and Art--one of the finest private art collections in the world- exhibits constantly change- beautiful palace alone worth a visit - music Sunday afternoons-

easy ride on the streetcar D from Hotel.

Museums

Museum Quartier - walking distance from your hotel- various exhibits

Kunsthistorisches Museum ( Fine Arts Museum - on the Ring near to Hofburg and Museum Quartier

For simple local fare- try Smutny- on Elisabethstrasse one street west of the Ringstrasse and State Opera- perhaps a 150 meter walk- very easy to reach from hotel and Opera.

Restaurant Sirk in the Bristol also serves late evening to about 23:30 ( 11.30 ) unfortunately their former cafe , very popular ,now a phone store.

Enjoy Vienna.
