considering Christmas in Vienna...need some input, please!

Am thinking of taking my family (3) to Vienna and then maybe Munich for the holidays. I am wondering what airports would be the best price wise to use from S. Fl.

And will than be slooking for a small boutique hotel or B%26amp;B once we are there.

I know this is a big time of year for the locals, but do many international folks visit then as well?

thanks,

Susan

I would suggest that you look for an %26quot; Open Jaw %26quot; Ticket example fly to Vienna from US return from Munich - or whichever city- this is often nomore expensive than arriving and departing from same city and saves valuable time.

Star Alliance members Lufthansa , United and Austrian Air may be a good place to start - but this is a late time to try and find cheap tickets-

perhaps you are near where Condor or LTU , discount carriers fly to from Germany - Florida - you could check them also.

Pre - Christmas visits are popular - probably more people here between Christmas - and to just after New Years- very hard to find a room then.

Many locals go away during these holidays to the sun or snow - as schools are closed and many have Holidays from working.

Some small hotels- City center- various price ranges-

Hollmann Beletage - 16 rooms

www.hollmann-beletage.at

Konig Von Ungarn -about 30 rooms

Romisher Kaiser

Pension Suzanne

Near City center

Pension Shermin 10 rooms ?

Pension Kraml

you can find good information and reviews for these here on Trip Advisor.

A nice time for a visit.

thanks so much for the info.I am going to check out these airlines and see what the prices are. And, then I will check out the pensions.

For some reason I didn%26#39;t expect many folks from the US to be traveling that far for Christmas...........I am surprised at the %26#39;high season%26#39; prices I am finding!

thanks
