Hi,
You might want to see Schloss Ambras. Very beautiful complex and when we were there in Oct. there were plenty of peacocks wandering around the grounds. We took a self guided tour. I think everyone (especially the kids) would be very impressed by the room filled with armor. For something different, in the evening, take the funicular right from Innsbruck up to Hungerburg. Hungerburg sits above Innsbruck with terrific views of Innsbruck and the surrounding Alps. We found this to be especially beautiful around sunset. Not sure if it%26#39;s open, but we loved the Cafe-Restaurant Hungerburg. We went again on our 3rd trip in Oct. last year and it was closed due to construction on the Hafelekar cable car.
Hall in Tirol, 6 miles east of Innsbruck, is our favorite old town in Tirol. Very easy by car or train from Innsbruck. We wound up at the Berg Tavern (in Castle Hasseg) in Hall in Tirol last year after finding the Cafe-Restaurant Hungerburg closed. Excellent dinner, medieval atmoshere and very reasonable prices.
Hope this helps.

I%26#39;ve been to Innsbruck as a six year-old, a college student and as a mom with a three year-old.
I still remember visiting the ski jump many eons ago. I visited again with my daughter and she loved it. Take the funicular up. The cafe is great and serves a mean strudel.
Another highlight all visits was the Pastcherkofel cable car. Great view from the top, but don%26#39;t go on a cloudy or stormy day. Since you%26#39;re going next weekend, may be okay, but may be not worth your while. After your visit, buy a cable car as a gift for your kids. I still have the one that my parents bought for me.
Old town always fun.
