My wife and I, are meeting two friends from France in Vienna for a long weekend. We would prefer to find rooms in the city centre for not more than 200 Euros per night. We would prefer to have 2 rooms, but an apartment with 2 bedrooms would be acceptable. I have looked at several pensions and hotels and do not find rooms available for those dates. Can anyone offer advice?
We will arrive on Thursday, 29 November and leave to return home on Monday, 3 December. Our friends will arrive on Friday, 30 November and leave to return home on Monday, 3 December.
Any advice would be appreciated very much.

Try apartments am Opernring:

or apartments Augarten:

Both are very good with am Opernring closest to City Center.

Thanks Operettaman. I%26#39;ve checked and it looks like there is availability. I will call in the morning and discuss our slightly complicated requirements (two different arrival dates). I noticed that you also live in Boulder and apparently are a Vienna expert. I%26#39;d love to get more advice from your recommendations for evening events, restaurants and Kriskindelmarkts for local crafts. A post to this forum or a meeting at a Starbucks would be fine. Thanks again for the quick response.

Alors,
Thanks for the compliment. I believe my friends Fritz and Vertical and others such as Ulrike73and HuSanNiang will be more helpful on the Christkindlmarkts. We have been after Christmas for New Years and found the city wonderful. Although we do like it even more in Fruhling und Sommer. I can definitely tell you that both apts I have recommended are very good (both friends and family have stayed at both). Beatrix Walkner of the apts Augarten is very easy to work with. In the meantime you can go to our site for some other links for Wien:

Look to the Vienna links on the menu bar.
We are new transplants to Boulder from Eugene, Oregon and really love it here, especially the commitment of the city to maintaining lots of bike paths and open space. Post back if you have more questions.
