New Year's Eve in Seefeld / restaurants

We are a couple in our 30%26#39;s and will be spending some days in Seefeld including New Year%26#39;s Eve.

We would like to know how the situtation is on New Year%26#39;s Eve, how do people celebrate, are there any festivities on that evening in Seefeld etc

Also we intent to make dinner reservations for New Year%26#39;s Eve and we were wondering what is the situation like. I mean what time do people have their dinner at New Year%26#39;s Eve? Of course we would much appreciate it if any of you could suggest a couple of nice restaurants to consider for that evening (and generally for our accommodation there as we are not staying half board). Finally how long in advance should we make our dinner reservations for New Year%26#39;s Eve?

Any info will be appreciated!

I have been to Seefeld numerous times but never at New Years.

Perhaps I can provide general information and another poster who has been there can provide more info.

Normally most everything is open at new Years unlike Christmas-- so no great need to make reservations until you arrive - assuming you arrive some days before New Years.

Many hotels with half board have a gala dinner and a celebration following. Without half board is no problem- many restaurants will offer a fixed menu , some ala carte.

You should be able to have a look at places and prices then make your reservation.

Many will dine 19:30 - 20:00 ( 7:30- (:00 PM ) then go elsewhere to a disco bar for celebrating .

The Kaltschmid Hotel in the center of town has always had a good cafe - disco with good music - this may be a good place to look for a festive evening.

This hotel also has several restaurants and most probably would accept outside guests that evening.

Some other good restaurants - look to the recent discussion on this site regarding Christmas dinner- these would be good places for a fun dinner.
