one day in vienna

We have one day to spend in Vienna, can you suggest how best to fill this time. We will probably be there on a Monday, so the museums will be closed.

No need to be afraid to stand in front of (too many) closed doors. In one day, there isn´t much more in it then the old town anyway.





I would start with either a drive around ringstrasse with a tramline 1 or 2, that gets you passed many sights already, but you have to explain them to yourself, or you join a tour:

That will take about half of the day, and leaves you the rest for a walk through the old town, visit St. Stephans cathedral, or the Imperail appartments in the Hofburg ...probably go to a typical Viennese cafe ....

Thankyou. We are arriving from Brsatslava by train. How do we get from the train to the tram, and do we purchase a day ticket?

Take the tram D from the train station Suedbahnhof to the Opera and there take trams 1 or 2.
