I%26#39;m visiting Vienna for 2 days and staying right in the centre. I plan to purchase a 72 hour travel ticket to get around but just want to check that this will give me a discount on the airport bus or train (I understand not the CAT train) but will it also get me out to the Schonbrunn?

Basicly, the 72 hours ticket covers that part of the bus- or trainride thats within the city limits, which is about 50%, and you then only have to pay the fare-difference. I am not sure about any discounts on the CAT, hopefully somebody else knows that.
Yes, the 72 hourt ticket of course covers the underground to Schönbrunn, thats with the city limits.
Here is a link to some general information regarding the different types of tickets:

Thanks for your help and for the link.

There is no discount on the CAT and the Airport bus
but if you take the S7 you only have to pay 1 zone instead of 2

Sorry about the mistake with the bus, so its only on the regular commuter train where you get the discount, not on any of the posh options ... :-)
