Photo opprtunities in mid November

I am an avid photographer (and I see by some profiles that there are others here), and would like to spend a day wandering around with my camera.

I assume that the gardens won%26#39;t be as colorful in November, and Christmas deocorations won%26#39;t be up yet.

Any %26#39;shouldn%26#39;t miss%26quot; places around the city?

What about day trips by train/bus? I love taking pictures of mountain scenery.

Thanks!

Salzburg and its surrounding area is a paradise for photographers. The old city itself is baroque, affording wonderful architectural shots (although the wonderful horse fountain has now been covered up for the winter). Take a walk up onto the Monchsberg and the Kapuzinerberg for the best shots of the city. The Monchsberg can be reached on foot or taking the Monchsberg Lift up to the museum of modern art. Take the fenicular up to the fortress for great views of the city, and if you walk round to the south side you have views of the mountains.

Schloss Hellbrunn, a short busride south of the city is beautiful too.

Berchtesgaden and Konigsee give wonderful photo opportunities too. You can take the cable car to the top of the Jenner mountain for fantastic panoramic mountain views.

You can take a train down to Zell am See from Salzburg (under two hours) where you%26#39;ll find lake and mountain views. Here again you can take cable car rides or a boat trip on the lake.

Of course the weather will be a factor in finding great views but we%26#39;ve been to Salzburg in all weathers and taken (literally) hundreds of photos.
