vienna in March?

I am thinking of visiting Vienna with my husband and pre-teen girls over spring break (mid-March) 2008. Is this a bad time to visit Austria/Switzerland/Germany? Will the weather be cold and not good for discovering the area?

There is never a really bad time for Vienna, because even if you might get into a little drizzle of rain, or in the worst case a few snowflakes, there is always a church or a palace to see or a museum to go to, so you´ll always find some place to escape to.

In general, its not a bad time for a visit, it might be a bit more rainy than laetr in spring, but still not really bad, shouldn´t keep you from coming !

A possible tip for your girls: I am not sure if its still %26quot;trendy%26quot;, but for some time, girls in that age seemed to have loved all the stories about Austrias last famous empress, Elisabeth of Austria, better known under her nickname %26quot;Sissi%26quot;, she, or at least her image, is standing for many clichees around the idea of royalty, you might wanna check a few infos on the web about her, there is also a special museum for her in Vienna:
