Vienna opera: Is there an age limitation?

Hi there,

I am holding four vip tickets for opera in vienna in mid-november. what i wonder is that one of the person travelling with us is 11 years old... Is he allowed in ? ( i mean are there any age restrictions in age? )

can%26#39;t imagine. I%26#39;d take a child as soon as he/she can sit still for the required time. I would think it will be a real treat, especially if you take the time and read through the planned performance. the text should be available in English in most bookstores.

No, there is no set age limit, I was there the first time with approx. 8 years, and it was no problem. If your child is behaving decently and can sit still for 2 hours, there shouldn´t be any problems.

No age limit but parents should use good judgement regarding the attention span of children and the possible problems an uncomfortable child can cause for other patrons.

11 should be no problem, but only parents know such things about their children.

The Vienna State Opera has a very good childrens opera program also. many tourists would have little or no knowledge about this .

Performances are generally not too long and mostly held during the day . Excelent way for parents to introduce young children to this form.

At the Volksoper , also no age limits, the coat check room usually has cushions that can be used by small children to raise their seating level for better sight to the stage.
