I am traveliing to Vienna in December and would like to know how to get from Vienna Airport by public transport to the Vienna Danube.
Can anyone help?

This will be a rather long trip as the Hilton Danube is neither very centrally located nor easily reached by public transport.
I suggest you take the S-Bahn (NOT the CAT-train) to %26quot;Praterstern%26quot; and there get onto tram 21 to %26quot;Meiereistrasse%26quot;.
Should be about 45 min and costs 1.7 Euro for the part of the trip outside city limits (coming in from the airport) plus another 1.7 for the part of the trip within city limits. If you%26#39;re holding or buying an unlimited ride ticket for within city limits, you only need the extra 1.7 for the trip from the airport.

Thank you for your information and I use this route.

I am passing by there everyday on the way to the office, you can hardly miss the station, as it is the one where most people get off the tram. There is a big shoppingcenter to the right off the station, with very bright blue-lights on the front even at night. You get out there, but then turn back against the direction you came from, and walk abck along the tracks for one block, and then turn right into %26quot;Dr. Natterer Gasse%26quot;. Walk down that little road through one block until you come to a big 4 lane road at the end, and you should already see the hotel to your left on the other side of the road, its a huge building, and you reach it via small bridge that crosses that road.

Thanks Fritz for the information. When I said the Vienna Danube, I meant the Hilton Vienna Danube.
Is this the directions you have forwarded to me?

hello,
i just came back from vienna danube. quite %26quot;remote%26quot; from the centre. However, the hotel runs a shuttle service to Hilton Stadpart which is centrally located and within walking distance from various %26quot;must-see%26quot; tourist sites.
We%26#39; took the s-bahn from the airport to wien mitte (landstrasse) which costs 3.40 (as opposed to 8 euro for the CAT - city airport train) but the trip is 8 minutes longer with several stops. Once at Landstrasse (s-bahn and Underground station) / Wien Mitte (cat station), went to Hilton Stadtpark (2 minutes away), asked the concierge to get the luggage to Danube and reserved our places on the shuttle back (every hour at the half hour from Stadpark and every hour, on the hour from Danube).
In general, we used the shuttle service into town and back every day. Highly recommend reserving your places on the shuttle as there are only 8 places.

Thank you for the information, its a great help.
