Hello,
We are planning a skiing trip to St. Johann in Tirol next February and will be flying in to Salzburg. We were thinking of getting the train then to St. Johann. I%26#39;ve done a basic search but I%26#39;m a bit confused really. I have a few questions, if anyone can answer them I%26#39;d be really grateful!
Has anyone here ever gotten the train from Salzburg to St. Johann in Tirol?
Is it a direct journey or will we have to change?
How far is the train station in Salzburg from the airport?
How long does the journey usually take?
Are the train tickets expensive?
What time is the last train at? The flight we are looking at booking only lands in Salzburg at 6.30pm, and by the time we get off the plane, claim our bags and actually get to the train station, it could take us a couple of hours. And thats not accounting for any delays to the flight. We%26#39;d be rightly stuck if we missed the last train to St. Johann.
If anyone has any info on this train journey, I%26#39;d be so very grateful.
Many thanks in advance!

Let me try to answer your questions:
How far is the train station in Salzburg from the airport?
From the airpoert to Salzburg %26quot;Hauptbahnhof%26quot; main railway station it will take you about 15-20 minutes. Bus number 2 goes at regular intervals between Salzburg %26quot;Hauptbahnhof%26quot; (main railway station) and Salzburg Airport.

Is it a direct journey or will we have to change?
You will have to change trains once - usually in Woergl.
How long does the journey usually take?
It depends on which trains and connections you will choose - between about 2:15 and 2:36 hours.
Are the train tickets expensive?
A one way ticket will cost 20, 70 Euros/person.
What time is the last train at?
As you will arrive about 6:30pm it is possible to catch the train which leaves at 8:30pm from Salzburg and it will arrive in St. Johann in Tirol at 10:51pm (you will have to change trains in Woergl at 9:54 - the connecting train will leave at 10:08pm).

Maybe you should also check out the offered private tranfer services by taxi or minibus, which might be more convenient:
