is there a website that lists all the activities going on in vienna in the main plaza for new years eve and new year%26#39;s day and what time everything starts?

you can open a site with many activiities and events for this time.

Much of the center of Vienna closes to traffic and streets become pedestrian walks. many city squares have stages erected with all types of musical entertainment-

Festivities begin in the middle of the afternoon and continue until ?

By main plaza - I assume you refer to the square in front of Stephansdom - packed with people from 23:00 many fireworks there -many trown by visitors very close to people - if this is not for you void this

the other main place is the Rathaus ( City Hall ) usually waltz music with dance lessons in early afternoon.

You will find many kiosks on the streets to supply good maps of the streets and all activities too.

You can find all manner of food and drink on the street.

The above mentioned site offes good advice on restaurants, Balls, music and most all other types of activities.

This is a great night for whatever you choose to enjoy!

If you look for a gala evening with excelent meal including red and white wine good music ( non stop ) for dancing ,very nice surroundings at Palais Ferstel in the city center- always special entertainment at midnight and much more - limited usually to about 200.

I see you´re very helpful.

Is true that on new year´s day, you can see the new year´s concert on the street on a screen?¿?¿?¿ I´ve heard so.

I believe that the big screen in front of the Rathaus ( City Hall ) located on the Ringstrasse will show the performance .

But no need to go there.

The concert is shown %26quot; Live %26quot; on Austrian television . You can sit and relax in your warm room and enjoy it. Nice to have food and drink during the event.

Either ORF 1 or ORF 2 stations

I think it starts 10:30- 11:00

It is also usually repeated later in the day too.

I know that it´s shown on tv, but i can watch it on tv in my house aswell, no need to travel to viena.
